What is ADHD?

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is a condition that can make it difficult to stay focused or concentrate on one thing for a prolonged period of time. If you have ADHD, you may also be less able to control impulses, or often feel fidgety and restless.

People

Who gets ADHD?

Anyone from any background can develop ADHD. It’s often identified during childhood, but not always – many people don’t find out that they have the condition until they’re adults. Before, it was widely thought that children grew out of ADHD, but we now know that the majority don’t.

What does ADHD feel like?

ADHD affects people in different ways. Some may have frequently racing thoughts, or be unable to process words being spoken to them by someone else. Others may feel an urge to act or speak before taking in the wider context of their surroundings, be unable to relax or have severe bouts of worry.

FAQ

Learn more about us.

How does it work?

How does it work?

It all starts with the pre-assessment. It’s a 5-minute series of questions you can answer online, and helps us to know if a further consultation with our ADHD clinician is going to be worth your time (and £249 fee).

Our clinician will then review your answers. If they think a consultation is right for you, they'll ask you to provide contact details for someone who knows you well, so we can email them a short online survey to complete. This can be a parent, or anyone else who's known you since birth, and knows information about your developmental history and your mother's pregnancy with you (such as an extended family member or family friend). The survey should only take 5 minutes.

Once your chosen person has completed this, you’ll be invited to book an appointment. You can choose your own time, and we usually have slots available on either the same or the next working day. The average appointment length is around 90 minutes.

At your consultation, our ADHD clinician will talk about your feelings and symptoms with you, ask you some questions, and discuss your medical history.

After your consultation has finished, our clinician will put together a report based on your discussion, and make a decision about your diagnosis. If you are diagnosed with ADHD, they’ll recommend a treatment plan for you, and you can choose whether to accept it.

Once you accept and start the treatment plan, we’ll get your first delivery of treatment ready at our registered UK pharmacy. Then, each month, we’ll send you a reminder asking you to confirm re-delivery of your next month’s supply. And you’ll get expert advice and info as part of your personalised aftercare.

How much does it cost?

How much does it cost?

It’s £249 for a consultation with our ADHD clinician.

For ongoing treatment, the price varies. The average is around £189 per month, but you might pay a little more depending on the treatment that’s recommended for you. The price includes regular deliveries of your prescription medication, aftercare, and routine access to our clinical team.

The £249 for the video consultation is non-refundable, regardless of whether you’re diagnosed with ADHD. But if you take our pre-assessment and our clinician doesn't think a consultation will be right for you, it won’t cost you anything.

What else is included?

What else is included?

    Your treatment price covers:
  • the cost of your prescription treatment and deliveries
  • personalised support and advice on ADHD from our team
  • and access to our clinicians so you can ask them anything you like, any time.

We do need to know certain details about you before you take a consultation with our clinician, and before they recommend treatment. For this reason, you will need to create an account to use Focused.

You can find more info on this in our privacy policy.

Can I cancel my treatment?

Can I cancel my treatment?

Yes, you can cancel your deliveries and stop getting treatment from us.
